success

Feels like life has just fallen into place lately and I'm so happy for this ....

3 weeks shy of finishing grad school which has been an agonizing 3 year battle!!
happy and in love with Nicholas
have wonderful friends and family
have a job I love and staff and students I look forward to seeing everyday
and most importantly I have been working out and eating healthy and physically I feel fantatic!

down 8 pounds in 2 weeks and dragged my ass to the gym on a Saturday morning ...

glad to have Katie and Laura join me for the step class. I definitely had trouble following and keeping up with the steps alas .. we went ... our heart rates were up and it felt great!!

Posting two photos of when I felt my best (as a motivator) ...I also put these on my fridge.... it was in my last year of high school when I had lost about 40 pounds. I was exercising regularly and finally within a healthy weight range after years of being an overweight child, teen and then young adult...ideally how awesome it would be to be at the same weight as high school and stay that way.... who knows though..... I guess it could happen ...
These pictures are from 8 years ago .. and probably about 70 pounds lighter .. scary to put numbers to it...It makes me really vulnerable to put a number to it .. however I think it's important for myself to do that.

  1. Emily Moxey! Congrats! 8 pounds in 2 weeks! I am so very very proud of you! I am sooooo happy Eat Clean is working for you. I KNOW it takes a lot a prep and organization but it makes eating a mindful activity! I have been good (won´t say excellent but good and focused)in Mexico taking walnuts and apples in ziplocs for snacks, making hard boiled eggs, cleaning veggies...timing my eating to 3 hours intervals. I hope you still want to make a goal/vision/dream board when I get back. We could get a small eat clean group of people together. Your mom could lead us in design and together we could work on content. I LOVE the fact that you have your goal pics already. I have lots of post it notes in my new book to share. Here is another one for today from Eat Clean:

PART OF GETTING YOUR GAME FACE ON INVOLVES WRITING DOWN YOUR GOALS. THE SIMPLE ACT OF WRITING DOWN YOUR INTENTION TO LOSE WEIGHT AUTOMATICALLY MAKES YOU 50% MORE LIKELY TO SUCCEED AT THE TASK YOU HAVE SET FOR YOURSELF.

IF YOU DO NOT PUT YOURSELF IN THE POSTION OF BEING PERPARED YOU WILL NOT REACH YOUR GOAL. YOU WILL ALLOW PREVAILING CIRCUMSTANCES TO DECIDE WHAT YOU ARE GOING TO EAT. WITHOUT READINESS AND PREPAREDNESS THERE IS NO SUCCESSFUL RESULT. YOU MIGHT AS WELL EAT A BIG HUNK OF CHOCOLATE CAKE AND CONTINUE TO GAIN WEIGHT!

  2. You're doing so well, Em! 8 pounds in two weeks is so impressive. I love the list of things that make you happy :)

It was great starting the weekend with the step class yesterday, even though I'm in pain today ;) Love the idea of putting the photos on your fridge...I may steal that idea once we're in the house.

  3. Laura .. I'm so proud of you for joining me. It was great to have you there. I think we should try again for next Saturday .. because like she said ... the more you go and the more you practice, the easier it becomes. =)

Steal away ... =) I look at it everytime I go into the fridge to "snack" and then decide if I'm really hungry/it's time for food or if I'm just bored.
